Nestled within the vibrant campus of the University of British Columbia, Loafe Café offers a charming retreat for students, faculty, and visitors alike. Located at 2053 Main Mall, Vancouver, BC, this cozy café combines a relaxed atmosphere with a menu that appeals to both quick bites and leisurely brunches.

Loafe Café prides itself on serving up a delightful selection of sandwiches and hearty brunch options. On any given day, you might be tempted by their Turkey Club sandwich, a fan favorite that one customer raved about as a highlight of their visit, or the tantalizing kimchi grilled cheese, which promises a zesty twist on a classic comfort food. For those seeking a lighter fare, the avocado toast is consistently praised for its fresh ingredients and satisfying flavors—a must-try for any health-conscious diner.

The café's ambiance is inviting, with a cozy interior perfect for engrossing study sessions or friendly catch-ups. However, it’s good to note that it can get quite busy during weekday mornings and afternoons, as many students seek refuge here for both food and a study spot. If you prefer a quieter experience, the patio offers a more serene setting when the weather permits, allowing you to enjoy your meal amidst the natural beauty of the UBC campus.

Customer experiences at Loafe Café tell a story of warmth and satisfaction. Leon Chen highlights the excellent sandwiches and affordable prices, particularly recommending the bacon and cheese sandwich. Meanwhile, Josh Adams shares his transformative experience of choosing Loafe Café over a chain, praising not only the Turkey Club but also the friendly service that elevated his morning. Dana Sullivan notes the café's quality offerings amidst the busyness of the UBC crowd, while Nima Karimi emphasizes the charm of the café as an optimal place for a relaxing brunch. These reviews reflect a consistently positive sentiment about both food quality and service, making it clear that Loafe Café is a cherished spot on campus.

So, whether you’re in the mood for a quick lunch between classes or a leisurely brunch with friends, Loafe Café is a delightful destination that promises delicious food, friendly faces, and a welcoming atmosphere. Don't miss the opportunity to indulge in what has become a local favorite.

A great place for a quick bite during classes! They have really good sandwiches, though I am not too huge on their drinks. But they do have a decent price for their portions and taste. I highly recommend their bacon and cheese sandwich :)

I went to this Loafe cafe instead of my usual Tim Hortons, and oh boy, I’m never going to Timmie’s again. The Turkey Club sandwich was SOOO good, the coffee was tasty and the guy who served me (Tom I think) was a ray of sunshine on a cloudy morning. His smile felt genuine and warm, not like the faked smile I usually get at Timmie’s. 10/10 service, 10/10 sandwich and I’ll definitely be going back.

One of the better cafes at UBC for quality. Service can be a little slow and people camp here to study, so it’s pretty difficult to get a table inside during late morning-mid afternoon on weekdays (the patio is easier and quieter when weather permits). On the weekends, though, it’s very quiet. Food and drink are generally good, especially sandwiches. The kimchi grilled cheese and avocado toast are my favourites. They have lots of vegan and gluten free baked goods, though these are sometimes dry or underbaked. The matcha latte is a little weak. I would definitely recommend this Loafe over the chains or UBC-owned cafes. It’s comparable in overall quality to other independent shops on campus.

Latte was quite nice. Very friendly staff as well. Just don’t get the breakfast sandwich.

Cozy Café at UBC – Great Brunch (maybe breakfast :) ) Stopped by Loafe Café for brunch and loved it. The latte chai and breakfast sandwich were both delicious and well-made. The space is good for a break or quiet study time. Highly recommend if you're around UBC!
